Mangwon Market Overview

This market was formed in the 1970s from a collection of small shops in an alley in Mangwon-dong, and now attracts an average of 20,000 visitors a day. The market attracts not only locals but also out-of-town visitors, as there are many attractions nearby, including Mangridang-gil and the Han River Yusuji(retarding basin) Reservoir.

In recent years, it has been featured on several TV programs, making it a popular gastronomic tourist destination. Cafe M, located on the first floor of the Mangwon Market Merchants' Association office, is a comfortable place to order drinks and eat food purchased at the market. There is also a shopping cart rental service for visitors to Mangwon Market. It is conveniently located near Mangwon Station for easy access to public transportation, and parking is available at the Mangwon 1-dong Community Center.

Gyeongui-Seon Book Street

If you take Exit 6 of Hongik University Entrance, you will find a street with various themes related to books. The area is filled with sculptures and spaces that tell a myriad of stories about books. You can find books in a variety of fields that you wouldn't find in a large bookstore, and various cultural events such as book talks with authors and book discussions are held here. It's also a great place for a date, with plenty of unique photo zones.

Cultural Stockpile

This former oil stockpile has been transformed into an ecological and cultural space. The tanks that used to store oil are now used for various performances, exhibitions, and experiences. The remaining trees on the site have been preserved and turned into a park and cultural yard.
